The Texas Water Development Board approves $92,800 in financial assistance to the City of Moulton (Lavaca County) to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN  (February 20, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $92,800 to the City of Moulton, located in northwest Lavaca County. The assistance comes from loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

The City of Moulton serves a population of less than 1,000, and the project is designated as a rural water project.
The City of Moulton intends to use the funds to finance planning and design costs relating to implementing a comprehensive asset management program to address system deficiencies. The project will address water quality, capacity issues and water loss.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
