The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $64,489,690

AUSTIN (March 17, 2014) The Texas Water Development Board approved financial assistance for much needed water and wastewater projects across the state. The communities receiving assistance range from small towns to large metro areas. The projects funded by TWDB will allow these communities to develop reliable sources of water, reduce water loss and improve water and wastewater infrastructure.

  • $1,744,690 grant to the Mooreville Water Supply Corporation (Falls County) to finance water system improvements
  • $38,260,000 loan to the City of San Antonio, through the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County), to finance wastewater system improvements
  • $22,400,000 loan to the City of San Antonio, through the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County), to finance water system improvements
  • $2,085,000 loan to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Krum (Denton County) to finance wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
