Texas Water Development Board approves $2,085,000 loan to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Krum (Denton County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (March 17, 2014) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $2,085,000 loan to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Krum (Denton County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance construction costs for the City of Krum-s Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
By using TWDB-s Clean Water State Revolving Fund, the Greater Texoma Utility Authority will save over $413,000 in interest over the life of the loan.
The Greater Texoma Utility Authority intends to use the construction funds to build a larger capacity wastewater treatment plant to improve its ability to serve existing and new customers.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
