AUSTIN  (April 17, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,041,936, consisting of a $735,000 loan and $306,936 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, to the Town of Anthony (El Paso County). The assistance will help address water quality issues and improve the water system-s efficiency.

Anthony could save approximately $402,192 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

Anthony intends to use the funds to finance planning, acquisition and design costs for a treatment system, a new 250,000-gallon elevated storage tank, and a new chlorination control system. In addition, the financial assistance will allow for upgrading and rehabilitating existing water infrastructure.

The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
