The Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $26,980,000 for water and wastewater improvement projects

AUSTIN  (August 13, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved financial assistance for water and wastewater improvement projects. The assistance approved by TWDB will allow these communities to finance water system improvements and water treatment plant expansions. In addition, the assistance will help finance the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant.

  • $15,500,000 in financial assistance to the Brazosport Water Authority (Brazoria County) for water system improvements
  • $1,480,000 in financial assistance to the Lake Palo Pinto Water Supply Corporation (Palo Pinto County) for water treatment plant expansions
  • $10,000,000 in financial assistance to the City of Laredo (Webb County) for construction of a new wastewater treatment plant

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
