AUSTIN  (August 13, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,480,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Lake Palo Pinto Water Supply Corporation (Palo Pinto County). The assistance will allow the Corporation to finance construction costs associated with rehabilitating and expanding their water treatment plant.

The Corporation could save approximately $255,109 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

In October 2012, TWDB approved financial assistance to the Corporation for the planning and design phase of the project. With that phase now complete, the Corporation is ready to move forward with construction. The assistance approved today will allow the Corporation to increase the capacity of the water treatment plant and the raw water pumps and provide additional system improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
