AUSTIN  (August 22, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $54,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Derby Ing. Utility (Frio County). The assistance will allow the Utility to finance planning and design costs associated with water system upgrades.

The Utility is a small water system that serves a population of less than 100. The financial assistance will allow the Utility to plan for upgrades that include the design of a new chlorination system, storage tank, and pumping system for the water well.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
