AUSTIN  (September 4, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $8,365,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Early (Brown County). The assistance will allow the City of Early to finance planning, acquisition, design and construction costs associated with building a new wastewater treatment plant.

The City of Early could save approximately $2,513,170 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The financial assistance will allow Early to construct a new plant south of the city. When the project is complete, the City is expected to save approximately $300,000 per year in operation costs.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
