AUSTIN  (September 4, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $21,740,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Hutto (Williamson County). The assistance will allow the City to design and construct a new wastewater treatment plant.

The City of Hutto could save approximately $4,058,499 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

TWDB approved financial assistance for the planning phase of this project in 2011. With the planning phase now complete, the City is ready to move forward with the design and construction of a new lift station, force main, and wastewater treatment plant. When complete, the City will have adequate wastewater treatment to meet the demands of its rapidly growing population.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
