The Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $98,812,431. Of this funding, $2,912,466 was designated for rural water projects.

AUSTIN – (November 6, 2014) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved financial assistance for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the state. The assistance for rural water projects will finance water system and wastewater treatment plant improvements.

$5,493,050 in financial assistance to the City of Euless (Tarrant County) for water system improvements
$2,712,466 in financial assistance to the City of Kirbyville (Jasper County) for wastewater treatment plant improvements
$200,000 in financial assistance to the Port Mansfield Utility District (Willacy County) for storage tank rehabilitation
$9,800,000 in financial assistance to the North Alamo Water Supply Corporation (Hidalgo County) for a new wastewater treatment plant and collection system
$3,525,000 in financial assistance to the City of Pharr (Hidalgo County) for purchasing surface water rights
$200,000 in financial assistance to Nueces County for water system improvements
$811,915 in financial assistance to the City of San Marcos (Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe, and Comal counties) for reuse system expansion
$150,000 in financial assistance to the City of El Campo (Wharton County) for wastewater treatment plant upgrades
$75,920,000 in financial assistance to the City of San Antonio, acting by and through the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County) for the Water Resources Integration Program

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
