Texas Water Development Board approves $3,560,000 in financial assistance to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Sherman (Grayson County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 11, 2014) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,560,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority of behalf on the City of Sherman (Grayson County). The assistance will finance wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $445,013 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The financial assistance approved today will finance construction improvements and provide needed electrical upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
