Texas Water Development Board approves $3,375,000 in financial assistance to the City of Seagraves (Gaines County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 11, 2014) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,375,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the City of Seagraves (Gaines County). The assistance will allow the City to finance planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $275,800 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

The City will drill additional water supply wells and add a treatment system with the assistance approved by the TWDB. The City will also make improvements to its wastewater treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
