The Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance for rural water projects totaling $7,533,211

AUSTIN – (January 8, 2015) – Today, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved financial assistance for rural water projects around the state. The assistance will allow rural communities to address water and wastewater system improvements and to develop an indirect potable reuse system.

  • $96,961 in financial assistance to the Westphalia Water Supply Corporation (Falls County) for water system improvements
  • $2,440,000 in financial assistance to the City of Olney (Young County) for development of an indirect potable reuse system
  • $4,996,250 in financial assistance to the Angelina & Neches River Authority (Angelina County) for wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
