AUSTIN – (January 8, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $96,961 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Westphalia Water Supply Corporation (Falls County). The assistance will allow the Corporation to finance planning, design and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

Because of drought, the aquifer levels have dropped and the Corporation needs to lower its existing well pump. The financial assistance will also allow the Corporation to provide additional service and other improvements to its customers. The Corporation serves a population of slightly less than 300.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
