Texas Water Development Board approves $500,000 in financial assistance to the Baylor Water Supply Corporation (Baylor, Knox, Archer, Throckmorton and Young counties) for a water supply project

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $500,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Baylor Water Supply Corporation (Baylor, Knox, Archer, Throckmorton and Young counties).The assistance will finance the planning, design and construction of a new well field.
The well field is an urgent needs project that will bring an additional water source to the Corporation. With the assistance approved today, the Corporation will drill two new wells and place a third existing well into production. In addition, the Corporation will be able to provide additional water supplies to the City of Megargel by constructing an inter-connection between the Corporation and the City.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
