AUSTIN – (February 25, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Central Texas Water Supply Corporation (Bell, Burnet, Coryell, Falls, Lampasas, Milam and Williamson counties). The financial assistance will allow the Corporation to finance planning, acquisition, design and construction costs associated with developing additional water supplies for the area.

The Corporation could save approximately $1,172,785 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

The Corporation will be able to expand its water treatment plant and construct two water wells with the financial assistance approved today. The two projects will provide the Corporation with additional water supplies to meet the existing water supply demands and improve the Corporation's resilience to drought.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
