Texas Water Development Board approves $179,000 in financial assistance to the City of Malone (Hill County) for water meter replacements

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $179,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Malone (Hill County). The assistance will finance planning, design and construction costs associated with water meter replacements.

The City will replace all of its aged water meters with the financial assistance approved today. Malone is a very small community serving approximately 173 water connections.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
