Texas Water Development Board approves $200,000 in financial assistance to Corix Utilities (Burnet County) for water system improvements for the Buena Vista Water System

AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $200,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Corix Utilities, Inc., (Burnet County). The assistance will allow the Utility to finance construction costs associated with water system improvements for the Buena Vista Water System.

The Utility will construct approximately 2,500 linear feet of water line to connect to the LCRA-Corix Lake Buchanan Water System. In addition, the Utility will replace approximately 222 water meters with an automatic meter reading system. The project will improve the Utility's water quality and maximize water efficiency within the system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
