Texas Water Development Board approves $200,000 in financial assistance to Corix Utilities (Burnet County) for water treatment plant improvements and meter replacements for the Ridge Harbor Water System

AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $200,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Corix Utilities, Inc., (Burnet County). The assistance will allow the Utility to finance construction costs associated with water treatment plant improvements and the replacement of existing meters.

The Utility will be able to increase the capacity at the Ridge Harbor Water System plant from 0.19 million gallons per day to 0.23 million gallons per day with the assistance approved today. The Utility will also be able to replace approximately 178 meters with an automatic meter reading system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
