AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $500,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Windthorst Water Supply Corporation (Archer and Clay counties). The financial assistance will allow the Corporation to finance the construction costs associated with a water supply project.

The Corporation will complete approximately 6.5 miles of pipeline to connect to the City of Scotland. By connecting to the City of Scotland, the Corporation will be able to receive water supplies from the City of Wichita Falls through Scotland's distribution system. This is an urgent needs project in response to the extreme drought.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
