AUSTIN – (April 10, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $102,719 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Mart (McLennan County). The financial assistance will allow the City to finance the planning and design costs associated with a water supply project.

The City plans to construct a pier to extend its water intake structure by approximately 100 feet. The City will also upgrade its pump station, which will allow for the City to draw water from less accessible portions of New Lake Mart. This is an urgent needs project in response to the extreme drought.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
