AUSTIN – (April 10, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $500,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the White River Municipal Water District (Crosby, Dickens and Garza counties). The financial assistance will allow the District to finance the planning, design and construction costs associated with a water supply project.

The District will be able to supplement its water supply by drilling two new water wells, building a new storage tank, and making improvements to the well field pumping station. This is an urgent needs project in response to the extreme drought.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
