Texas Water Development Board approves $2,025,000 in financial assistance to the City of Honey Grove (Fannin County) for water distribution lines

AUSTIN – (May 19, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,025,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Honey Grove (Fannin County). The City will be able to finance the construction of rural water distribution lines with the assistance approved today.

The City could save approximately $264,634 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

The City plans to rehabilitate and replace approximately 30,000 linear feet of piping. When complete, the project will help to reduce water loss throughout the system.-

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
