Texas Water Development Board approves $3,080,000 in financial assistance to the Northwest Harris County Municipal District No. 22 (Harris County) for wastewater improvements

AUSTIN – (June 16, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,080,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Northwest Harris County Municipal District No. 22 (Harris County). -The District will be able to finance design and construction costs associated with wastewater treatment plant and collection system improvements.

The District could save approximately $380,053 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will be able to fund its share of the cost to repair and replace major components at the wastewater treatment plant jointly owned with two other municipal utility districts. The District will also be able to rehabilitate approximately 21,000 linear-feet of collection lines.-

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
