Texas Water Development Board approves $3,000,000 in financial assistance to the City of Anton (Hockley County) for wastewater and water system improvements

AUSTIN – (July 2, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the City of Anton (Hockley County). The City will be able to finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater and water system improvements. -

The City could save approximately $136,013 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

The City plans to construct a 0.125 million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant with the assistance approved today. The City will also install new equipment at its water system to increase efficiency.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
