Texas Water Development Board approves $475,000 in financial assistance to the Airline Improvement District (Harris County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (October 28, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $475,000 grant from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) to the Airline Improvement District (Harris County). The District will be able to finance construction costs associated with a water and wastewater improvement project.

With the assistance approved today, the District will be able to provide first-time water and sewer services to approximately 109 water and 200 wastewater connections within the District's service area. The TWDB previously committed $5.4 million from EDAP for this project.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
