Texas Water Development Board approves $2,800,000 in financial assistance to the El Paso Utilities Public Service Board on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County) for a wastewater system project in the Montana Vista area

AUSTIN – (December 1, 2015) –-The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $2,800,000 grant from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) to the El Paso Utilities Public Service Board on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County). The assistance will finance planning and design costs associated with a wastewater system project.

When complete, the project will provide first-time wastewater service to approximately 2,400 connections in the Montana Vista area.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
