Texas Water Development Board approves $61,200,000 to the City of Pearland (Brazoria County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 1, 2015) –-The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $61,200,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Pearland (Brazoria County). The City will be able to finance the design and construction costs associated with a wastewater system improvement project.

The City could save approximately $18 million over the life of the loans by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The City will be able to expand the Reflection Bay Water Reclamation Facility with the assistance approved today. The expansion will increase the facility's treatment capacity from 2 million gallons per day to 6 million gallons per day.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
