AUSTIN – (December 1, 2015) –-The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $64,731,000 for wastewater and water supply projects. Of this funding, $3,531,000 was designated for rural water projects.

  • $61,200,000 to the City of Pearland (Brazoria County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $731,000 in financial assistance to the Mooreville Water Supply Corporation (Falls County) for a water supply project
  • $2,800,000 in financial assistance to the El Paso Utilities Public Service Board on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County) for a wastewater system project in the Montana Vista area

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
