Texas Water Development Board approves $5 million to the Riverbend Water Resources District (Bowie County) for acquisition of a water and wastewater system

AUSTIN – (December 14, 2015) –-The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5 million from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Riverbend Water Resources District (Bowie County). The District will be able to finance the acquisition of a water and wastewater system and provide planning to address any deficiencies.

The District could save approximately $1 million over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

The District will be able to purchase the TexAmericas Center water and wastewater facilities with the assistance provided today. The District plans to operate and expand both facilities to address the water needs of the region.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
