AUSTIN – (February 18, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,439,700, consisting of a $2,080,000 loan and $359,700 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Arlington (Tarrant County). The City will be able to finance the construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

In addition to the savings from the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $267,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The City will replace 16,525 linear-feet of pipeline in five different segments throughout the City with the assistance approved today. The project qualifies for 100% Green Project Reserve for energy efficiency.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
