AUSTIN – (May 5, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $32,144,367 for rural water projects.
- $24,676,713 to the City of Cameron (Milam County) for wastewater and water system improvements
- $6,345,000 to the Bastrop County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Bastrop County) for water system improvements and the purchase of a wastewater system
- $1,122,654 to the City of Wellman (Terry County) for water system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
