Texas Water Development Board approves $2,045,000 to the Memorial Point Utility District (Polk County) for a new wastewater treatment plant

AUSTIN – (June 1, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,045,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Memorial Point Utility District (Polk County). The District will be able to build a new wastewater treatment plant with the assistance approved today.
The District could save approximately $379,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
The financial assistance will allow the District to finance the planning, design, and construction costs of the project and rehabilitation of the plant's onsite lift station. When complete, the plant will be able to treat 0.2 million gallons per day.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
