AUSTIN  (June 1, 2016)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $14,815,433 for a new wastewater treatment plant and a reclaimed water system. Of this funding, $2,045,000 was designated for a rural water project.

  • $2,045,000 to the Memorial Point Utility District (Polk County) for a new wastewater treatment plant
  • $12,770,433 to the City of Weatherford (Parker County) for a reclaimed water system

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
