The Texas Water Development Board approves $10,485,000 for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (September 22, 2016)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $10,485,000 for water system projects. Of this funding, $5,080,000 was designated for rural water projects.

  • $980,000 to the Town of Anthony (El Paso County) for water system improvements
  • $2 million to the Coryell City Water Supply District (Bosque, Coryell, Hamilton, and McLennan counties) for a waterline replacement project
  • $2.1 million to the City of Troy (Bell County) for a water supply project
  • $5,405,000 to the City of Edinburg (Hidalgo County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
