AUSTIN – (November 30, 2016)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Jefferson County Water Control and Improvement District No. 10 (Jefferson County). The District will use the assistance to finance improvements to the wastewater treatment plant.

The District could save approximately $126,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The financial assistance will allow the District to finance the planning, design, and construction of a new chlorine disinfection system, improvements to the existing wastewater treatment plant, and a pilot study of the plant's rock-reed filtering system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
