Texas Water Development Board approves $483,557 to the City of Lueders (Jones and Shackelford counties) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 15, 2016) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $483,557 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Lueders (Jones and Shackelford counties). The City will use the assistance to finance water system improvements.

The financial assistance from the Very Small Systems and Disadvantaged Community reserves within the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund will allow the City to install a new distribution line, a tank mixing system, and an automatic meter reading system to address water loss.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
