AUSTIN – (March 29, 2017)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $644,500, consisting of a $550,000 loan and $94,500 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Acton Municipal Utility District (Hood County). The District will use the assistance to finance wastewater system improvements.

In addition to the savings from the loan forgiveness, the District could save approximately $40,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The District will be able to finance planning and design costs associated with wastewater treatment plant improvements with the assistance approved today. The improvements will allow the District to meet the future needs of the area as it continues to see an increase in population.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
