AUSTIN – (April 6, 2017)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $69,880,000 for water and wastewater system improvements. Of this funding, $200,000 was designated for rural water projects.

  • $64,680,000 to the City of Houston (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $200,000 to the Town of Woodloch (Montgomery County) for water system improvements
  • $5 million to the Canyon Regional Water Authority (Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, and Wilson counties) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
