Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $12,605,000 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (August 17, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $12,605,000 for water and wastewater systems.Of this funding, $3,105,000 was designated for rural projects.

  • $9.5 million to the San Antonio River Authority (Bexar County) for a new wastewater treatment plant
  • $455,000 to the City of Booker (Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties) for water system improvements
  • $1.9 million to the D&M Water Supply Corporation (Nacogdoches County) for water system improvements
  • $750,000 to the City of Chandler (Henderson County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
