Texas Water Development Board approves $674,013 in financial assistance to the Angelina & Neches River Authority (Angelina County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN (January 23, 2014) The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $674,013 to the Angelina & Neches River Authority (Angelina County) consisting of a $205,000 loan and $469,013 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements. This is one of three projects approved by the board this month that is designated a rural water project.

The Angelina & Neches River Authority intends to use the funds to finance planning and design costs related to wastewater collection improvements that will provide sewer service to approximately 105 connections within the service area, including Redland Estates. The project will provide the area with much needed first-time service to ensure public health and compliance.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
