AUSTIN (January 23, 2014) The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $191,223 to the City of Dell City (Hudspeth County) consisting of a $75,000 loan and $116,223 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements. This is one of three projects approved by the board this month that is designated a rural water project.

The City of Dell City intends to use the funds to finance planning and design of a land application disposal system near the City's wastewater treatment plant. The project will enable the city to address the significant need of expanding the current land disposal area by installing pumps and piping. In May, the City also received funds from TWDB for the planning and design of improvements to their water treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
