Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,135,000 loan to the Pleasant Springs Water Supply Corporation (Anderson County) to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 23, 2014) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,135,000 to the Pleasant Springs Water Supply Corporation (Anderson County) from the Rural Water Assistance Fund to finance water system improvements. This is one of three projects approved by the board this month that is designated a rural water project.

The Pleasant Springs Water Supply Corporation intends to use the funds to finance additional water well and storage capacity for the existing system. The project will provide the rural community with a 300 gallon per minute water well and a 100,000 gallon storage tank to greatly improve access to available water.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
