AUSTIN  (February 20, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $540,000 to Skyline Ranch Estates Water Supply Corporation (Hays County) consisting of a $340,000 loan and $200,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance system upgrades.

Skyline Ranch Estates Water Supply Corporation intends to use the funds to finance planning, design, and construction costs relating to a new well and upgrades to the system. The existing system was constructed over 25 years ago and does not have the capacity to meet the growing need in the area. This project will provide much needed upgrades to ensure public health and compliance while expanding current services.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
