AUSTIN  (July 10, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved $1,000,000 in water conservation education grants. The grants will assist in the development of water conservation education and outreach programs across the state.

TWDB awarded the grants through a statewide competitive process with consideration given to the potential service population of the project, monitoring procedures and estimated water savings, and a minimum match of private funds. TWDB will negotiate with selected grant applicants to determine how funds will be distributed.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
