AUSTIN  (November 6, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $200,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Nueces County. The assistance will allow the County to finance planning and design for a new water transmission line for Cyndie Park 2 Water Supply Corporation.

The project is the culmination of sustained collaborative efforts between the TWDB, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and Nueces County Commissioners to provide high-quality water to the area. The new transmission line will allow residents of Cyndie Park and adjacent residents to connect to a new water supply and disconnect from their current water wells.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
