Texas Water Development Board approves $200,000 in financial assistance to Sol Y Mar Water System (Hidalgo County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN  (November 20, 2014)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $200,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Sol Y Mar Water System (Hidalgo County). The assistance will finance planning, design, and construction for water system improvements.

The financial assistance will allow the Sol Y Mar Water System to connect to the City of San Juan water system for improved potable water. The project will install approximately 1,335 linear feet of 8-inch water line with meters and service connections to 29 residences in the project area.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
