Texas Water Development Board approves $4,617,955 in financial assistance to the City of San Marcos (Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Comal counties) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $4,617,955 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, consisting of a $4,275,000 loan and $342,955 in loan forgiveness, to the City of San Marcos (Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Comal counties). The assistance will finance wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $1,098,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The financial assistance approved today will allow the City to construct wastewater system improvements, including the replacement of 27,620 feet of wastewater line.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
