Texas Water Development Board approves $8,195,000 in financial assistance to the Agua Special Utility District (Hidalgo County) for a wastewater service project

AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $8,195,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Agua Special Utility District (Hidalgo County). The assistance will allow the District to finance a wastewater service project.

The District could save approximately $2,053,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will finance the planning, acquisition, design, and construction phases of a wastewater service project. The project will bring first-time wastewater service to approximately 1,752 homes in the City of Palmview and surrounding areas.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
