The Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $92,785,839. Of this funding, $43,250,839 was designated for rural water projects.

AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance for multiple water projects around the state. The projects offer a wide range of improvements and expansions to Texas water and wastewater systems. Eleven of the fifteen projects receiving financial assistance today will benefit rural communities.

  1. $16,430,000 in financial assistance to the City of Granbury (Hood County) for a new water treatment plant
  2. $151,839 in financial assistance to the Lee County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (Lee County) for a water pump station
  3. $500,000 in financial assistance to the Windthorst Water Supply Corporation (Archer and Clay counties) for a water supply project
  4. $8,195,000 in financial assistance to the Agua Special Utility District (Hidalgo County) for a wastewater service project
  5. $4,600,000 in financial assistance to the City of Laredo (Webb County) for a waterline project
  6. $22,075,000 in financial assistance to the City of Laredo (Webb County) for a wastewater treatment plant expansion project
  7. $19,640,000 in financial assistance to the City of Mission (Hidalgo County) for a wastewater treatment plant expansion project and a reuse system project
  8. $1,804,000 in financial assistance to the City of Brady (McCulloch County) for a water treatment plant and distribution system improvements
  9. $170,000 in financial assistance to the City of Melvin (McCulloch County) for a water treatment facility
  10. $3,500,000 in financial assistance to the City of Castroville (Medina County) for waterline replacements
  11. $3,050,000 in financial assistance to the City of Castroville (Medina County) for wastewater treatment plant improvements
  12. $9,050,000 in financial assistance to the City of Castroville (Medina County) for a wastewater treatment plant expansion project
  13. $200,000 in financial assistance to Corix Utilities (Burnet County) for water treatment plant improvements and meter replacements for the Buena Vista Water System
  14. $200,000 in financial assistance to Corix Utilities (Burnet County) for water system improvements for the Ridge Harbor Water System
  15. $3,220,000 in financial assistance to the City of San Marcos (Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe, and Comal counties) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
